Darren's Master Key Master Mind Alliance

Part 9 of the Master Key tells us that Health, Wealth and Love are the three things which all mankind desires and which are necessary for his highest expression and complete development. They are desires of our “world without” and are found in our “world within.” Visualization is the mechanism which must be used to acquire that which we desire.

I am reminded of the quote by Napoleon Hill, “Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”

Therefore, whatever our desire is, we must hold it dearly in our mind with focus and a burning desire to see it come to fruition. One way of doing this is through the use of affirmations. Part 9 gives us the affirmation, “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy.” With that in mind, one may create their own affirmation for whatever it is they desire. Part 9 tells us that “every success has been accomplished by persistent concentration upon the object in view.”

Note your desires on paper, commit it to memory and constantly feed your mind with the visualization that it is reality.

This weeks lesson focused on thought and language and how they manifest our environment. Each of the statements in the Master Keys lessons can be associated with one of the Seven Laws of the Mind. The Seven Laws of the Mind are:

1. Law of Substitution – We cannot think about two things at the same time. If a negative thought enters your mind try to think about God instead. If that is too big a reach at the time, use any fond memory or other pleasant thought. Jesus, the Master Teacher, said, “Resist not evil,” meaning turn from it and think about something else instead.

2. Law of Relaxation – Mental effort defeats itself, exactly the opposite of physical effort. A relaxed, calm state of mind, is the only doorway to progress mentally. Relaxation of thought is the only access to Infinite Intelligence.

3. Law of Practice – The 5 P’s…Perfect Practice Prevents Poor Performance. Our bewilderment of magnificence in others, upon further inspection, finds, as Wooden shares, You’ll find most of it is practice; the rest of it is work.” With practice of the correct things, we improve on the other six Laws of the Mind.

4. Law of Forgiveness – To access the Divine and the subconscious to the Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent Creator we must forgive everyone and anyone to clear the channel. There can be no connection to the Divine mind where anger or resentment against a brother or sister, justified or not, exists.

5. Law of Dual Thought – Thought is a combination of ideation and feeling. We can attach any feeling to a thought we want.

6. Law of Subconscious – As soon as the subconscious accepts the idea it becomes a demand and it works constantly, 24-7, to manifest demand – accessing a reservoir of infinite resources.

7. Law of Growth – Whatever we think about grows. What we forget atrophies.

This week we trace a battleship back to its origin which is of course, an idea. Everything, regardless of its size, is the result of an idea, use of the imagination, intangible to tangible.

I would say the mind is mighty powerful. Would you agree?

We become what we think about. Part 7 of the Master Keys teaches us that we can be what we will to be. We can manifest both tangible and intangible desires by utilizing the Law of Attraction. Like all things great and small in the world, the desire begins with an idea. In part 7 of the Master Keys this is called idealization. Knowing specifically what it is which we desire to manifest is called idealization.

The transformation from an idea to the object of one’s desire, called materialization, is accomplished by the process of visualization. Seeing the object complete, the details of the object, its qualities, and the feeling we secure from obtaining the object, are all part of the visualization process.

It is important to note that the materialization of one’s desire requires a great deal of patience, persistence, and undisturbed focus. Like a flower seed which needs the nutrients from water, the warmth from the sun, and the time in order to produce the flower, so too does the idea have needs in order to produce the desired object.

Providing electricity to a device activates the device and produces an effect.  So it is also with oneself, the brain being the source of electricity.  The world without, however, is only as good as the electricity which the brain provides.  We determine the “wattage” of our brain based on the components we use to generate the current, namely what we consciously think about. The brain determines the amount of wattage, but we are responsible for the quality of the current.

We determine the quality of the current by what we allow into our mind. Other’s thoughts and opinions, media, friends, family, and other external components all determine the quality of the current which our brain possesses.

I love the quote at the end of the lesson.

“That a man can change himself, improve himself, re-create himself, control his environment, and master his own destiny is the conclusion of every mind who is wide awake to the power of right thought in constructive action.” (Larsen)

Mind in action.

Mind in action is thought, and thought is creative. This is the thesis of our lesson for this week. While studying part five of the Master Keys, I am reminded of many of the concepts taught in Think and Grow Rich. The great quote by Napoleon Hill, “Whatever the mind of man can conceive and believe, it can achieve,” seems to sum up the entire lesson.

Much of the material focuses on the subconscious and the thoughts which have been instilled there from past experiences, heredity and self-talk. It is unfortunate that material contained in The Master Keys and Think and Grow Rich is not taught in schools to children at a very early age, any age for that matter.

The compound effect of all thought which has entered our mind is responsible for our position in life today. While it is likely that most people want to be successful, to be rich in terms of faith, money, and other attributes, it is also likely that their subconscious is responsible for the lack thereof. That is what we have to work on and it’s not easy. Repetitive and persistent reading of the things we know we can achieve and bring to fruition is a key to doing so. These “acts” are necessary to overcome the tiny, but very powerful, thoughts which the subconscious interjects into our thought processes. Once we’ve reviewed the facts, weighed the options and decide what it is we are going to do, the subby steps in and attempts to create doubt as to the validity of our plan. Evoking thoughts such as it won’t work, people will make fun of you, you’re going to meet with resistance and likely lose many of your friends. All negative, unproductive self-talk.

Merely avoiding the situations which bring about this negativity is not enough. We can choose to stay afar from others who are bringing negativity to your thinking, but what about those individuals such as a parent, a spouse, or children. How does one handle that? Unless they too are willing to make a shift in thought processes, that will have to be handle on a case by case basis. We aren’t in the business of forcing someone to change their mindset.

I really had a struggle with this week’s lesson trying to reconcile what I learned in the Think and Grow Rich training and then The Master Keys. I suppose I will need to revisit this section several times again to figure out where my thought process is failing me.

I anxiously await to read other’s blogs on the subject matter to see how they perceived the material.

I can be what I will to be.

I am truly reaping major benefits from this course.  I found that I am accomplishing more tasks during the week after studying this material the first day.  Many of the things weren’t even written on my cards.

How useful would this material and these tools be in groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Quit Smoking, Mental Illness and others which attempt to retrain behaviors. We often fail at successfully completing a task because we look at the big picture.  What we should do is create smaller tasks which lead to the successful completion of the major task…truly the compound effect at work.

During this week’s lesson I was reminded of one of my favorite quotes by Napoleon Hill, “What ever the mind can conceive, and believe, the mind can achieve.”

WOW! Week three of reading the Master Key course was like a mini study of Think and Grow Rich for me. So many of the “keys” resonated with me on a very personal level. It’s always fascinating to me to learn about how things work and the Brain is certainly in that category of things to learn about.

One thing that was interesting especially to me is the key related to magnetism. So many are teaching, especially in the network marketing arena, about magnetic or attraction marketing as if it’s a new phenomena.  It’s been there the whole time. Clearly stated in item 6. “If this radiation is sufficiently strong the person is called magnetic; he is said to be filled with personal magnetism. Such a person may wield an immense power for good. His presence alone will often bring comfort to the troubled minds with which he comes in contact.” Does it not seem reasonable then that all we need to do is develop that part of the brain; there’s no secret that someone has to induce it into the brain.  Therefore, all one need do is follow the instructions given to develop this part of their magnetic self.

I am reminded also of auto-suggestion in item 11. The subconscious can and will carry out such plan and ideas as may be suggested to it by the conscious mind. Hence, it’s very important that we carry out the skills as taught by Mark to reprogram that old subby and how it chooses to think. Remember the subby makes all the decisions.

I am a bit perplexed with item 27. which says “When making a practical application of this principle, in accordance with the exercises given in the subsequent lessons, it is well to remember that it is not necessary to outline the method by which the subconscious will produce the results you desire. The finite cannot inform the infinite. You are simply to say what you desire, not how you are to obtain it.  My understanding when writing our DMP’s was that we needed to include how we were going to obtain it. At this juncture, I am confused and will need to seek clarification.

I’m still working on the “sitting” exercise and I have not yet conquered that yet, but it’s going to happen. From a medical perspective, it’s something I greatly need to do for myself.

Week 2 – Master Key Master Mind Alliance

Having discussed the first week’s assignment of The Master Key with one of my long-time friends and teammate, I knew he had a contrarian view of the subject matter. Stimulating the thought process has been one of the greatest assets I have acquired from Go90Grow and the study of Think and Grow Rich.  Often one to provoke the elephant in the room, I’ve asked David to share our discussion in this weeks post.  

“My friend, Darren, and I started the Master Key course together a couple weeks ago. I immediately had some concerns about the book and so Darren asked me to write a guest blog to just give his readers something to consider as they approach this material.

First, how did we even end up in this course? Well, I was introduced to Mark J through his network marketing skills training. Earlier this year, I got fed up over my lack of success in network marketing so I invested the money to take his Go90Grow training boot camp and invited Darren to come along for the ride. Well, as part of that training there was a separate course to study Think and Grow Rich. I had tried to read that book at least 3 times before and just did not get it so I figured maybe taking the side course would help.

Wow! Did it ever! The book finally made SO much sense. My life has been transformed by reading it and actually following the steps that it lays out. Ironically, I took Go90Grow for network marketing, but I discovered Think and Grow Rich and by following that book, I’m now pursuing public speaking as my Burning Desire and using network marketing as a side gig to public speaking.

Anyway, we learned during the Think and Grow Rich class that Hill used the Master Key System as a guide to know what to ask when he started interviewing the hundreds of wealthy people that became the basis for his book. I decided that since I absolutely loved and was so transformed by Think and Grow Rich, I should study the Master Key System since Mark was going to be doing a class again for the first time in 3 years.

So, why do I have concerns about the material in the Master Key if I loved Think and Grow Rich so much?  Well, it doesn’t take very long once you start reading The Master Key System to understand that unlike Think and Grow Rich, it is VERY much about the metaphysical and seems to want to set itself up as a standard of truth. And with my background of studying and debating world views, I knew I just couldn’t automatically take the teachings in this book at face value. I had to really think about what it wanted its readers to believe.

Now, I do have an objective standard of truth that I appeal to, but I don’t think it is necessary to fully explain that to make my point in this post. (You can contact me privately if you really want to know).  I think that as a book that claims to be able to explain the unseen mind and make truth claims about “the divine” and other things that we can’t verify, it should at least be accurate about things we can verify so that we know the rest is trustworthy. And unfortunately, I do not feel the Master Key System is supportive of this.

All we have to do is look at the very first numbered statement in the book, “That much gathers more is true on every plane of existence and that loss leads to greater loss is equally true.”  If we really think about this, is it really true? If much gathers more, why do so many wealthy people lose their money? I saw two instances of this in the last week.  And if loss leads to greater loss, how can we ever have “rags to riches” stories? Again, these cases are around us all the time.

Let’s look at statement 9 – “Harmony in the world within will be reflected in the world without by harmonious conditions, agreeable surroundings, the best of everything. It is the foundation of health and a necessary essential to all greatness, all power, all attainment, all achievement and all success.”

Again, is this really true? All of us can think of people with health, power, achievement, etc., that do not have inner harmony.

I have many more similar thoughts on this, but for brevity purposes, I will close with this. I am starting to think that Andrew Carnegie may have asked Napoleon Hill to write a new work based on the Master Key that was more practical without the metaphysical emphasis that is in the Master Key. Maybe Hill simply discovered when he interviewed hundreds of successful people over a period of 25 years that they did use the inner mind substantially, but not in the ways that were laid out in the Master Key.

I know for my part, I have been able to turn my life onto the path of success by only following the system laid out in Think and Grow Rich and I am forever grateful for Hill’s work, because if my success were tied to following the Master Key, I would have to live without.
